WordPress and RSS Google Reader

I have written several blogs to help others to understand how to use WordPress and how to create a RSS list of favorite blogs. Once a RSS list is created in Google Reader, daily blog posts are easy.

With a RSS reader, many blogs can be collected and read (really it is scanning) at any time.

I like Google reader the best. This is my collection of blogs on Google Reader.

How to collect the blogs you like: When you find one, click on the orange symbol (see it in following Post)

Also look at the other blogs listed on the site as links or weblogs.

This is my A-Z list of my favorite addiction recovery blogs by topics.

Kindred Spirits

Over 13 years of being online and visiting a lot of websites, I have once in awhile met kindred spirits. The main commonality we have is a willingness to be open to exploring our spirituality. So in 2006, I decided to talk about how we are all connected. I believe we are each totally alike and totally unique.

Some of the lives I’ve visited over the years and been interested to continue to visit are:

(1) Kathy Wilson at www.under-one-roof.net. I have been visiting her site since 2002. She offers life coaching, website solutions, vibrational healing and workshops, classes and teleseminars. She lives in Gig Harbor, Washington. I learned from her that a website can be a collection of interests.

(2) Gordon Atkinson at www.reallivepreacher.com. For several years I didn’t know who he was but I knew I liked his writing and his life. He and I also have experienced depression—one of God’s great gifts to those of us who were asleep. Depression does get your attention. He is a real live preacher in San Antonio, Texas.

(3) Rob Waller at www.mindandsoul.info. He explores Christian spirituality and mental health not only on his blog but also in his professional life. He is a doctor of psychiatry who has managed to stay a real person. He works in Bradford, England. We share a similar interest in spirituality aiding mental health.

(4) Don Iannone at http://poeticalchemist.wordpress.com/. Don Iannone is an organizational change agent and innovation specialist with over 28 years experience in the economic development and higher education fields. He works at Richmond Heights, Ohio and has a great love for Cleveland, Ohio and poetry. I believe the only constant in life is change.

(5) Steve F. at www.ragarambler.blogspot.com. He works in the non-profit field. His profile includes “late-40-something former telecom corporate data/finance geek and former seminary student. Once I was on the road to ordained ministry; now I’m on the road to finding what else God has planned. A “friend of Bill” since December 1990, a storyteller, sci-fi fan, a former Catholic (and most-valuable-altar-boy), I’m now residing somewhere on the outskirts of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) but I’m really looking for a Meadow place that I can call “home” ”. He works in Chicago, llinois. He and I are both “friends of Bill” and on the road to find what God has planned for us.

Excerpt from my “Why I Needed Squidoo”:

I don’t know if I was born for Squidoo or Squidoo was made for me. I do know that I have found my favorite vehicle–a place to practice target marketing. I believe that everyone is in sales. By that I mean we are each trying to get our personal agenda met every day. So how do you make sales easy? Find your target market and people buy from you because you are providing them a service to buy what they want. I began my main blog, kathyberman.com (Changemaker: Reinventing Yourself), in November, 2004. After writing daily for 10-12 hours for over 2 years, I came to believe that the blog had too much information. I had decided during the first few months of blogging that I didn’t have the time to write about all I’ve learned in thirty years of recovery and answer comments.

Knowing that I would be in for a long, lonely road without comments didn’t deter me from the decision to exclude comments. I have always posted my email address and posted several times about new directions the blog was entering. Of course, my choice brought me no traffic. Although I have been consistently and continually online for over two years, I have no traffic. I read a lot of blogs that have high readership audiences and have never regretted my choice.

My Mysticism Team

I have been collecting links for over 10 years. I have organized them by topic in individual folders. Needless to say, this is a clumsy and time-consuming hobby. So I started a few years ago to look for other methods. What I do works for me. I put them on “my team” and rotate publishing them on my main blog, Changemaker: Reinventing Yourself. Each Thursday, I will publishing one of “my teams”. For today, this is “my mysticism team”.
